Remote Control Accidents

These pictures were taken from a remote control accident that occurred on the Puget Sound and Pacific railroad near Shelton, WA on Tuesday, August 6, 2002. The crew was operating the train using remote control on a 1.5% grade, and the train did not stop when instructed by the operator. The train proceeded downhill out of control, without anyone on board, hitting a tractor trailer on a private crossing. There were no fatalities. The FRA has begun an investigation.
